The Alcotec Turbo Klar finings does the trick in 24 hours normally and in 48 hours in the impossible cases. For finings to work best, it is important that you have degassed the brew and ideally added a stabiliser, or at least made sure that it is not fermenting any more.

It comes in a practical duo-pack, containing all you need to clear 25 litres of wine or wash. Note that it does NOT work on beer (it’s too good, you would take out the yeast you need for the secondary fermentation later).

Turbo Carbon’s unique activated internal pore structure removes impurities that are not taken out by post distillation filtration. Use with any Turbo Yeast for a cleaner, smoother tasting spirit.
Continue to filter after distillation choosing from the range of Still Spirits activated carbon products.

IMPORTANT: Always use Turbo Clear after fermentation to remove solids before distillation. If Turbo Clear is not used, the impurities trapped by Turbo Carbon will be released during the boil.

BDF Reflux Carbon 500g

A granulated carbon to aid in the removal of congeners, colour, some off flavours, and some off aromas in distilled spirit. During fermentation: use 15 grams per litre of wash and leave in wash for 7 days. Post-distillation: use 1T per litre of spirit. For best results dilute the spirit to below 50% before using this carbon in a filter for polishing. Allow to slowly drip from your filter or to sit in spirit for 7 days, stirring briefly, daily. Rinse before use.
